The United States Postal Service will be offering a special inauguration cancellation for the Inauguration of George W. Bush. There will be one in Washington D.C., and two additional ones will be offered in the home cities of the  President and Vice President.

This Cancel will be available all day on January 20, 2001. The special Inaugural Cancel is prized by collectors throughout the world. The Inauguration Day cancel has been used every year since 1952, when Dwight D. Eisenhower Inauguration was held in Washington. Since the Lyndon Johnson Inauguration, the cancels available have also included the President's hometown.

Specially designed cachets will be available through the Crawford Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the City of Crawford. These special Inauguration Covers have been available on a limited basis since the Woodrow Wilson Inauguration. They are produced by the Joflan company which has made cachets for all the inaugurations since the Inauguration of President Carter.

Joflan was chosen four years ago to make the Official Cachets for the Clinton-Gore Inaugural Committee. The Crawford Chamber of Commerce will have several of the older cachets including Ronald Reagan and George Bush  Inaugurals. Joflan has provided a limited source of these for purchase exclusively through the chamber.

Joflan has also created a special collectible item called the presentation card. This item can be framed and given as a special gift to friends of the Bush Cheney Campaign. These items will be available during the next few days, and can also be canceled by the United States Postal Service.
