Hello, I was one of the many Falun Gong practitioners who was fortunate enough to enjoy your town on the 25th during the Chinese Dictator's visit. I wanted to personally thank Kathryn Bost for graciously inviting us to use her yard. I hope that as much as we were able to see the beauty of your town, you all were able to see the beauty of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" through our silent protest. I hope to return someday!!!

I read that President Bush was once AGAIN at his ranch in Crawford, Texas and I just had to look up on the internet and see what all the Crawford fuss was all about. The pictures are beautiful the scenery is so serene and their is so much nature, we just all gotta go (lets all go to Crawford, Texas it's only 18 miles from Waco Texas) to Crawford Texas and get us some of that George Bush retreat serene pie. The name "George" in the Christian definition of names indicates "farmer" oh that crawford RANCH is beautiful. Peace, love, and happiness. Nancy Morales

I'm back to this site! Thanks for the updates about the Chinese president coming over, its so great to hear not only several big newspaper stories about it but actually how the people of a small town take pride in welcoming him, only from this site can you get such a perspective! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :) Of course this is one of my favorite websites now :) KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK and maybe George can get re-elected in 2004 so this site can become a part of living history instead of regular history like Independence MO was for Truman or Hope Ark. was for Clinton :)

GOD BLESS :)

I am now living in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China and read a piece of news about your lovely town from the local Chinese newspaper today.

Without google.com, I do not believe I can visit this website becoming more and more famouse once President Bush's ranch was established at your town.

I can find out some photos about some activities happened before, however, I would like to suggest to build up an on-line souvenir store in order to meet the demands from these who are willing to buy gifts but unable to visit your town in person.

Good luck.

Hello Crawford, Texas and friends,

Your town seems like a pleasant and quiet place to live. I am sure that is why President Bush and The First Lady choose a ranch in your area. Recently President Bush visited us here in California.

I wish the President well with his upcoming visit from the Chinese delegation and leader. I hope they can have a peaceful dialogue and make progress in improving human rights in China. I will be looking forward to seeing some photos of the event on your website.

As a former resident of Crawford, I am very pleased to see your web site! The pictures of Tonkawa Park and the surrounding countryside are beautiful and great memories for me. I would like to see more of the history of Crawford in pictures: the Baptist Church, Methodist Church, the Lutheran Church and any other points of interest.

I grew up and was Baptized in the old First Baptist Church building. I attended vacation Bible school in each of the churches every year!

I will continue to watch your web page for more. Keep up the good work!

I guess our President put Crawford on the map and yo'all seem to be doing a right fine job with this here web site! All kidding aside, it was wonderful to take your town tour. I am a farmer/rancher in the state of Montana and much like Texas, we still have that "down home" feeling. I guess that comes from living with few people and a lot of wide open spaces. And that's what makes this President stand out from the rest...he identifies with the "real world" and we with him. God bless our President! Sincerely, Joanne Witt, Carter, Montana

Hi, My name is Jamie Griffin, I'm from Hamilton, Al. I checked out Crawford and Mr. Bushs Ranch while I was in McGregor Texas visiting my aunt and uncle Father's Day weekend. It was cool getting to see how small the town was, It's probably smaller than the town I'm from. I graduated in 98 with a class of 36. Anyway, your town has some nice country folks, a pretty Tonkawa Falls, and some good eat'n at that little coffee shop! I enjoyed my visit there and plan on coming back in the spring of '03. My e-mail is jgriffin8@juno.com. Feel free to write. Thanks for letting me share my comment.

Nice web site! I am Canadian, from Appin, Ontario, and was recently in Crawfod with a friend from Glencoe, Ontario. We were on a "road trip" to Scottsdale AZ, via San Antonio TX, and stopped in Crawford, to take a photo for a local elderly farmer friend who is an admirer of President Bush. As it turned out, we were lucky enough to arrive on Good Friday, and the President was at his ranch. We took a photo of a sign downtown, at a restaurant/gas station, welcoming President and Mrs. Bush home for Easter, and of a very friendly State Trooper at the same gas station. Needless to say, our friend was very pleased to receive a copy of the photo.

Hi,

I read an article recently about your town in the Times of London newspaper, which kind of led me to this site.

This well-presented, informative and oddly addictive website is apt for such a charming town as Crawford.

It is quite impossible for one living here in the UK to appreciate exactly how large your ranches are - 300 acres for President Bush - while most of us have a small garden or allotment to man.

Treat our PM Tony Blair well when he arrives, as I'm sure you will!

I see MTV is still barely visible. That was painted by Michael Todd Vandever way back in the early 80's. Todd was killed in an accident I think in '85. He was a good friend and that old shed is kind of a memorial to him in my mind and I'm sure others from Crawford.

Keep the pictures coming so I can keep up with what's new in town.

Your website is very nice. Its light and friendly.

I did not find any other place to sign your guestbook.

What is the elevation of Crawford? Where can I get a picture of its topography, including the lakes around?

What a great site. President Bush, then Candidate Bush, visited Wolfeboro, NH and was well received by a very enthusiastic crowd. We are proud to have been a stop on his successful campaign trail. My wife and I are driving west and plan to visit Crawford, hopefully to have lunch in the coffee shop he mentions. God bless President Bush, and let's hear it for the New England Patriots !!

You all must be so proud of Crawford! What a neat little town...yet with such an international flavor! It must be such an honor to have the Bush Family in your county...hosting foreign policy meetings about nuclear arms just up the road in at "The Ranch!" Not many small towns of 760 people can boast that!! I am so proud to have George W. Bush as our president!

I live outside of Mosheim and it's kinda weird to hear the fighter planes flying over when the President is at the Ranch. They fly over about every 20 minutes or so and I assume are keeping a watch over the air space when he and other officials are in the area. A sober reminder of our current state of affairs in the world and in our own country.

Great to see Crawford getting so much good press. I have been somewhat associated with Crawford since I attempted to run back the first official kickoff on the Tonk Park football field. My children all played against Crawford in the 1970s, and were on the only class B team to beat Crawford when Crawford girls won the state basketball championship in 1973. My wife, Patsy, was a counselor in the Crawford schools in the early 1980s. As much as we used to hate the Pirates, it is good to see the town and school going so good. Also, the Coffee Station has the biggest and best hamburgers in the civilized world. Hope Pres. Putin got to eat one, or a chicken fried steak. I am in the process of moving about 16 miles East of Crawford. I am proud to have George W. Bush and his lovely wife as one of our new neighbors. I am proud to have him as my president. He is restoring the honor and dignity that goes with the office. I have visited the town of Crawford with my son, and will do so again so that he can be a participant of world history.

Good site! I live in Jayton, Tx which is about the size of Crawford -- 630 population -- so I understand the advantages of living where you know everyone in town. It's like one big 630 member family. Noteworthy is the fact that your school supt. was raised here in our small town. Kenny Judy is truly one of the "good guys" and we congratulate you for your good fortune in having both Kenny AND our great president, George W. Bush, as citizens. Best wishes to Crawford (Also, good luck with the adjustments you are, and will be, making because of the 'Western White House'.)

Howdy Neighbors, I discovered my old home town had a web site courtesy of the Dallas Morning News, so I took a look. By the way, that newspaper piece showed a picture of LeRoy Mappe - tell him hello from an old neighbor, please. The web site is nice! Brings back more than a few memories to read the history and see the photos. The falls and the swimming hole pictures reminded me of the hours we spent there in the summers, with fun and frolic, and the rare tragedy. Keep up the good work. I'll be checking for new pictures from time to time, and to see what is new.

Greetings from: Big Sky Country, Montana!

Well, I thought I was living in a small town up here in Montana. However, Crawford has us beat in that regard.

I love your Website, Crawford! ;) Thank you.

Yes indeed, living in a small town is like living with ALL of your relatives, all of the time. We here in Conrad are very friendly, we all wave to each other as we pass one another driving in our vehicles. ;)

I am so glad that Pres. George W. Bush and First Lady Laura, have a such a lovely place to retreat to every now and again,.....it helps one's perspective to get away from the Hub-bub. Crawford looks like an excellent place just for that purpose.

I voted for GW, and will again in 2004. God bless our President and his family, and all of you there in Crawford, TX.

Sincerely, Liz Iverson, in the HEARTLAND......! Conrad, Montana <Gods Country>

Hi Folks...this is the greatest! I grew up in the Crawford area and graduated there in 1985. What excitement now for the Engelbrecht farm...lots of childhood memories. I have been away in Indiana, and now in Florida so it is great to see all the action taking place in our little town. I still like to call home and hear the latest excitement going on with the Bush Bunch...keep up the good work, it is a neat way to stay informed as well as a link to the past...Marilyn (Sue Fulp) Vansau :) vansaum@yahoo.com

I thoroughly enjoyed the history of Crawford and the story of the band trip. I really liked the t-shirts , I just may have to order a few for some members of my family. (they are anti-W) What's wrong with these people??? This is just the type of town my husband and I would love to live in. Maybe one day we'll add our family of five to the population, but for now we enjoy a bigger small town life in Wake Forest, NC. God bless you and we hope to visit you real soon.

We have spent many enjoyable days at the Campground in Crawford, Texas as members of the Camper Ranch Club during the late 1980's and early 1990's. We fully concur with the comments from other respondents that say how friendly the local people are. Do you still have the Easter Sunday Sunrise Services at the Club House? Will alert other friends (Campers) about your website. Good Luck! Paul & Jean Newcomb panew@aol.com
